Starting an Internet Business - What's Your Plan?

Starting an Internet Business - What's Your Plan?

Author: C Harris

It's a given that setting up a money-making Internet business is quick, fairly simple, and (best of all) relatively inexpensive.  But believe it or not, these wonderful advantages can also create a danger zone.  Why is that?

The danger comes when the individual doesn't take the endeavor seriously enough to do some strategic planning.  It's quick, it's simple.  You can get set up in a day or so with just a few bucks.  Because of this, many people approach the business with a flippant attitude, and conduct business in the same manner.  This is a shame because it is a great waste of time and energy.

Think about it.  Have you been guilty of behaving like a fickle butterfly flitting from flower to flower as you jump from one online business to the next?  And all the time, you are either wondering why this isn't working.  Or you're bad-mouthing the whole internet business scene proclaiming to the whole world that "this just doesn't work."  Now your attitude is sour and your frustration is at an all-time high.

There is so much available out there on the Net, and many of the offers to help you make money online truly are viable, legitimate, and highly lucrative.  But only if you take your internet money-making business seriously.  What do I mean by that?

To take your business seriously, stop and think of how you would handle your business if you had to pay several thousand dollars just to open the doors.  I daresay much more planning would go into the project.  In fact, you would probably be setting up a business plan before you ever started the business.

It's no different with your home-based business.  Because the potential is so vast, you would do well to spend quality time planning out your venture.

* What business best suits you and your temperament?
* How much extra income do you want to make?
* How soon do you need to turn a profit?
* Are you looking at physical products to promote; or intellectual products?
* How much time to you have to invest in your money-making internet business?
* How much cash do you have to invest in the start up; and how much ongoing cash do you have to maintain it?

All of these questions should be answered and identified in your "planning stages."

It's a fact that those individuals who put the most time into planning their home-based business, are also the ones who spend the most time monitoring their business activities.  They are the ones who go the extra mile in doing such things as ad tracking, and checking customer (or site visitor) feedback.

It's also a fact that these same individuals are the ones who become the most successful in a work-at-home business.

You've read the testimonies of those who have made incredible amounts of money with an online business opportunity.  They didn't do it by mindlessly jumping from business to business.  They did careful planning, a great deal of research, and tested various advertising programs.

You can do the same.  And you can reap the same rewards!
